2024 Gasparilla Raiding Party Schedule: Mayor’s Surrender and Pirate Invasion

The bearded bandits of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla are gearing up for another daring raid on the city of Tampa! Tomorrow morning, the elite Plunder-Team Ten Special Operations Unit will make their move, aiming to negotiate a peaceful surrender with Mayor Jane Castor.

Rumors are swirling that the Captain of the Krewe and his battalion of pirates will invade downtown Tampa on Saturday, January 27th, to discuss the Mayor handing over the key to the city. If she refuses to meet their demands, the pirates may take matters into their own hands and deliver her to the meeting place by force.

The 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest kicks off on the same day, with the Invasion Brunch at the Tampa Convention Center. Guests will witness the Gasparilla Invasion and the Jose Gasparilla docking, followed by the Mayor’s surrender of the key to the city. The Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates will then commence, led by the merry band of pirates.

Media parking for the Mayor’s Raid will be available on the north curb of Kennedy, between Franklin and Tampa. The event promises theatrical sounds and props, such as cannons firing, but there is no need for concern as the Tampa Police Department is aware and prepared.
