Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series: Tampa Recap | Malcolm Stewart and Max Anstie Shine
The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series made its way to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida for round five of the championship. The event saw Malcolm Stewart earn his first career main event win in the 450SX class, while Max Anstie started the 250 East series on top.
In the 450SX main event, Chase Sexton got the holeshot and led the race until late chaos ensued. Malcolm Stewart closed in on Sexton and eventually took the lead after Sexton crashed in the whoops. Cooper Webb finished in second place, while Jason Anderson rounded out the podium in third.
In the 250SX East main event, Pierce Brown led the race until he crashed in the whoops, leading to a red flag. Max Anstie took the lead on the restart and cruised to victory, with Daxton Bennick finishing in second and Cameron McAdoo in third.
Eli Tomac faced struggles throughout the night, finishing in 17th in the 450SX main event. Despite a torn ACL, McAdoo managed to secure a third-place finish in the 250SX East main event.
In qualifying, Chase Sexton set the fastest time in the 450SX class, while Max Anstie topped the charts in the 250SX East division.
