Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Mike Evans Achieves Historic Milestone and Receives Love from Community
Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ veteran wide receiver Mike Evans has made history by reaching the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the 11th straight season, tying the legendary Jerry Rice for this prestigious record. The accomplishment came on the last play of the game as the Buccaneers secured the NFC South division championship and will now host the Washington Commanders in the Wild-Card Round.
The love for Evans is pouring in from all across the 813, with Tampa Jesuit High School paying tribute to the star athlete for his historic achievement. Evans, who has been a great supporter of the Tigers’ athletics, including football and basketball teams, has attended Jesuit football games in the past and has even supported trips for his alma mater, Galveston Ball, to play in tournaments in Tampa.
In his senior season at Galveston Ball back in 2010, Evans showcased his talent by hauling in 25 passes for 648 yards and seven touchdowns in football, while also excelling on the basketball court with averages of 18.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game.
The Jesuit Tigers’ football handle took to Twitter to congratulate Evans on his record-breaking achievement, highlighting his ongoing support for the school’s athletic programs. The community is buzzing with excitement as Evans continues to make waves both on and off the field.
