Florida Breweries Shine at U.S. Open Beer Championship
TAMPA, Fla. – Florida’s craft beer scene is raising a toast after ten local breweries clinched medals at this year’s U.S. Open Beer Championship, showcasing the state’s vibrant brewing culture. Among the standout performers, Magnanimous Brewing from Tampa Heights and Mathews Brewing Company from Lake Worth each took home three prestigious awards, solidifying their reputations in the competitive brewing landscape.
Magnanimous Brewing triumphed with two gold medals for its innovative brews: Dead as Dreams in the Coconut Beer category and Diagonal Cut in the Specialty Beer category. Additionally, the brewery earned a silver medal for its Where I May Foam Vienna-Style Lager, demonstrating a remarkable range of flavors and styles.
Not to be outdone, Mathews Brewing Company also shone brightly, securing a gold medal for its Pineapple Express in the Chili Pepper Beer category. The brewery further impressed judges with two silver medals for its White Goblin and Orange Goblin beers in the Belgian Witbier and Belgian-Style Fruit Beer categories, respectively.
Orlando’s Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. made waves with two gold medals for its Gold 1915 in the California Common Beer category and Lake Hopp’r in the German Kölsch category, showcasing the diversity of Florida’s brewing talent.
Hell ‘n Blazes Brewing Co. from Melbourne also celebrated success, winning a gold medal for its Georgia Bound in the Fruit Wheat Beer-Peach category and a bronze for Turning Violet in the American Style Fruit Beer-Blueberry category.
Other Florida breweries that earned accolades include Idyll Hounds Brewing Co., Marker 48 Brewing, Cueni Brewing Co., Nine State Brewery, Unrefined Brewing, and Tampa Bay Brewing Company, further highlighting the state’s robust craft beer community.
