Memorial Day Weekend Events and Activities in the Greater Tampa Bay Area

Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching, and there are numerous activities and events planned throughout the greater Tampa Bay area to honor fallen military service members. From ceremonies to festivals, there is something for everyone to participate in and pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

One of the notable events is the Memorial Day Pinning Ceremony, which will take place on Friday from 12-1 p.m. at the Florida Blue Center in Tampa. Veterans will be honored in a special ceremony to recognize their service and bravery.

Another highlight is the Star-Studded Honor Fest at Coachman Park in Clearwater on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. The event will feature a parade, a ceremony with Medal of Honor recipient Army Staff Sergeant David G. Bellavia as the keynote speaker, and a free music festival.

On Sunday, the 27th annual Memorial Day Observance will be held at Veterans Memorial Park in Tampa at 10 a.m. The event will include the Garden of Gold flag installation and a fellowship after the ceremony.

For those looking for musical entertainment, the “United We Stand” Memorial Day Concert will take place on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Sarasota Opera House. The concert will pay tribute to the 80th commemoration of D-Day and feature the Choral Artists of Sarasota and the Lakewood Ranch Wind Ensemble.

On Monday, the Sarasota Annual Memorial Day Parade will march through downtown Sarasota at 10 a.m., followed by a ceremony at Chaplain J.D. Hamel Park with keynote speaker Michael Tollerton, a West Point graduate.

Other events include a Memorial Day Farmer’s Market in Plant City, a Crawfish Boil at Bayboro Brewing in St. Petersburg, and a Memorial Day Brunch at the Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach.
