Florida State to Face Texas A&M in “Battle in the Bay” on Black Friday 2025

TALLAHASSEE – Mark your calendars! Florida State University (FSU) is set to clash with Texas A&M in the highly anticipated “Battle in the Bay” on November 28, 2025. The game will take place at the Benchmark International Arena (formerly Amalie Arena) in Tampa, marking the first matchup between the two teams on the basketball court since their thrilling encounter in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, where the Seminoles edged out the Aggies 57-50.

With a historical edge in the series, FSU holds a 3-1 advantage over Texas A&M, dating back to their first meeting in 1956. This upcoming game promises to be a significant event for both teams and their fans.

Broadcast details and game time will be announced at a later date, but the excitement is already building as the Seminoles prepare for a challenging schedule. The addition of Texas A&M brings FSU’s SEC opponents to three, including a matchup at Florida on November 11 and a game against Georgia in the ACC/SEC Challenge in Tallahassee on December 2.

“We’re working tirelessly to build a championship-caliber program for our great Florida State fans,” said Seminole head coach Luke Loucks. “Every game we play against a quality opponent helps us grow and become a better basketball team. Playing Texas A&M is great for us in so many ways. They were ranked in the top-15 nationally, were a No. 4 seed in last year’s NCAA Tournament, and finished fifth in the SEC—making this matchup a powerful test for us.”

This game will also mark FSU’s first appearance in Tampa since their victory over Tulane on December 17, 2017. The city, known for its vibrant community of Seminole supporters, provides an excellent backdrop for showcasing the team.

“Playing in Tampa gives us the chance to showcase our team in one of Florida’s largest cities,” Loucks added. “This game strengthens our program and provides our players with valuable experience as we prepare for the rest of our non-conference slate and the upcoming ACC schedule.”

Fans eager to witness this exciting matchup can sign up for the official Battle in the Bay presale starting Thursday, September 11th, at 10:00 a.m. at this link. General ticket sales will begin on Friday, September 12th, at 10:00 a.m. ET, with prices starting at just $25, available through Ticketmaster.com.
