Roving Exhibition at Gallery221 in Tampa Bay: A Showcase of Fiber Art by Nneka Jones, Kandy G. Lopez, and Eugene Ofori Agyei

Local artist Kandy G Lopez’s exhibition, “Roving,” is currently on display at Hillsborough Community College’s Gallery 221 in Tampa, Florida. The exhibit features fiber art created by Lopez, along with other artists, Nneka Jones and Eugene Ofori Agyei. The artwork in the exhibition is meant to explore the psychological and emotional complexities of self-reflection, movement, and memory, intertwining our sense of being with the process of becoming.

Lopez’s piece, titled “Marly & Luis,” is a detailed work created using yarn and acrylic mesh on canvas, measuring 96 x 60 inches. The exhibition is part of the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival and runs through February 28. The gallery is open Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free.
