WWE Event Update: NXT Live in Tampa Canceled Due to Low Ticket Sales

NXT Battleground 2025 Preview: A Stacked Card Awaits

WWE’s Tampa Weekend Faces Setback as NXT Event Canceled

Tampa, Florida – The excitement surrounding WWE’s action-packed weekend in Tampa has hit a snag, as the highly anticipated NXT Live event scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Yuengling Center has been canceled due to disappointing ticket sales.

Originally part of a thrilling lineup that includes Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday and NXT Battleground on Sunday, the Tuesday show struggled to gain traction, with only about 1,700 tickets sold prior to its cancellation. In contrast, Saturday Night’s Main Event and WWE Raw are nearly sold out, while NXT Battleground has already moved around 6,000 tickets.

WrestleTix first reported the cancellation, noting that the NXT event was intended to be a highlight of WWE’s Memorial Day weekend festivities. Fans who were looking forward to the live experience will now have to adjust their plans, as the next NXT episode will instead take place at its regular home, the WWE Performance Center.

NXT Battleground 2025: What to Expect

Despite the setback, the excitement continues for NXT Battleground, which promises to deliver a stacked card. Fans can look forward to a thrilling championship match as Oba Femi defends his NXT Championship against Myles Borne of the No Quarter Catch Crew. Additionally, NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer will face off against the formidable Jordynne Grace.

In other championship action, Kelani Jordan aims to reclaim her title as she challenges Sol Ruca for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. The card also features a TNA World Championship match where Joe Hendry will defend his title against Trick Williams.

Rivalries will ignite as former allies Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo go head-to-head, while the NXT Tag Team Champions, Hank and Tank, team up with Josh Briggs to take on Shawn Spears, Brooks Jensen, and Niko Vance.

As fans gear up for an electrifying weekend, the cancellation of the NXT Live event serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of live sports entertainment. Stay tuned for more updates as WWE continues to deliver thrilling action in the ring.
