Local Film Producers Debut Holiday Movie “Saint Nick of Bethlehem” to Tampa Bay Families
Local film producers in Tampa Bay are set to debut their holiday movie, “Saint Nick of Bethlehem,” to families in the area. The film tells the true story of a man grieving the loss of his son and finding closure by giving back to his community during the holidays.
What sets this movie apart is that it was not made with a huge Hollywood budget. The producers, Ben Danielle and Doug Tschirhart of Scatter Brothers Productions, believe that audiences are looking for real, relatable stories rather than big-budget blockbusters.
“We are all witnessing a transformation of the Hollywood industry, and some of these bigger movies are not doing so well. They’re a little out of touch, they’re not relatable. People are really looking for real stories,” says Ben Danielle. “We were able to really stir the community, to rally the support that we needed to help get this movie made. That was one of the reasons why I think local is important.”
The film was shot in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, but went through post-production in Tampa Bay, utilizing local talent for editing, special effects, sound composition, and more. The screening of “Saint Nick of Bethlehem” will take place tonight at 7 p.m. at the AMC Westshore.
“It’s playing all over the country. We’re working on getting into some theaters here in Tampa, but it’s been playing in different areas,” explains Doug Tschirhart.
