Organizers have branded the rally a "nationwide day of defiance," aimed at rejecting authoritarianism and calling attention to what they describe as the Trump administration’s overreach. “They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services,” the group stated on its website. “The corruption has gone too far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings."
The protests come in the wake of heightened tensions surrounding federal immigration policies and recent ICE raids, particularly in Los Angeles, where the National Guard was deployed. Earlier this week, dozens rallied outside Tampa City Hall in solidarity with those protesting in California.
