Memorial Day Events and Activities in the Tampa Bay Area

As Memorial Day approaches, various groups in the Tampa Bay area are gearing up to honor fallen members of the military in a variety of ways. From traditional remembrance services to festivals and barbeques, the community is coming together to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

One of the notable events taking place is the 90th annual Memorial Day Service in Tampa, organized by the American Legion Cemetery Corporation. Maj. Gen. Edward Dorman, III, U.S. Army Retired, will serve as the keynote speaker, and guests are encouraged to bring American flags to wave in support.

In Hillsborough County, the 27th Annual Memorial Day Observance will be held at the amphitheater at Veterans Memorial Park and Museum, featuring traditional military elements and guest remarks. The event is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by service members.

Other events include the Venice Memorial Day Service, the CRISP Memorial Day Ceremony in Tampa, the Largo Memorial Day Ceremony, and the Bay Pines VA Annual Memorial Day Ceremony in St. Petersburg. Each event offers a unique opportunity for the community to come together and honor those who have served.

In addition to these traditional ceremonies, there are also more lighthearted events planned for the weekend, such as the Clearwater Honor Fest, the Sarasota Memorial Day parade, and the Honor Our Heroes 5k Memorial Day Run in Oldsmar.
