TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, Tampa Bay is gearing up to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. From solemn observances to vibrant community events, there are numerous opportunities for residents to pay tribute to fallen service members.
28th Annual Memorial Day Observance
Kick off the weekend with the 28th Annual Memorial Day Observance at Veterans Memorial Park. This event features resources for veterans and military families, a tribute to fallen heroes in the “Garden of Gold,” and a JROTC rifle salute. Notable speakers include Col. Jeff J. Mrazik from MacDill Air Force Base and Retired U.S. Army Col. Alfred “Al” Carter.
