Tampa Bay Takes 2-1 Lead in Series with Win Over Panthers
In a thrilling Game 3 matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers, the Lightning came out on top with a 4-3 victory to take a 2-1 series lead.
The game started off with a bang as Tyler Motte of the Lightning scored to give his team a 2-1 lead, their first lead of the series. The Lightning continued to pressure the Panthers with eight shot attempts in the following minutes, but Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky stood tall to keep it a one-goal game.
Despite the Lightning’s strong play, a turnover by Anthony Duclair led to a goal by Sam Reinhart to tie the game at 2-2. The Panthers then took the lead with a goal by Brandon Montour, putting them up 3-2.
Tampa Bay captain Steven Stamkos praised his team’s effort, saying they played their best 10 minutes of the series. However, he acknowledged that small mistakes were costing them in the close games.
In the third period, the Lightning fought back with goals from Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov to take a 4-3 lead. Despite a late push from the Panthers, the Lightning held on for the win.
With the victory, the Lightning now have the upper hand in the series as they look to advance to the next round of the playoffs. The two teams will face off again in Game 4, where the Panthers will look to even the series and force a Game 5.
