Joy Mangano Sells Tampa Vacation Home for $2 Million

Tampa, FL — Joy Mangano, the New York-based inventor and entrepreneur renowned for her creation of the “Miracle Mop,” has successfully sold her vacation home in Tampa, Florida, for $2 million. The three-story residence, located in the upscale Culbreath Isles neighborhood, was initially listed on March 2 for $2.225 million and went under contract within three weeks, closing on April 10, according to property records.

The sale price reflects a 10% discount for the buyer, a Florida limited liability company, showcasing the competitive nature of the current real estate market.

Built in 1988, the expansive home boasts 7,116 square feet of living space, featuring five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. The property also includes a covered lanai with an outdoor kitchen, a landscaped backyard complete with a pool and spa, and a two-car garage.

Mangano, 64, purchased the home for $1.9 million in 2006. She has become a household name through her frequent appearances on QVC and the Home Shopping Network. Her life story inspired the 2015 film “Joy,” in which Jennifer Lawrence portrayed her, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Mangano also served as the film’s executive producer and published her autobiography, “Inventing Joy,” in 2017.

In a statement, Mangano praised her listing agents, Jeff Shelton and Mike Hughes of Coldwell Banker Realty, for their exceptional marketing efforts during these unusual times. “They did an amazing job in getting my home sold,” she said.

Shelton emphasized the importance of innovative marketing strategies, noting that virtual tours and video presentations played a crucial role in attracting potential buyers. “The sale of this property is an indication that the real estate market in Tampa still remains attractive to buyers,” he added.

As the market continues to evolve, Mangano’s successful sale highlights the enduring appeal of luxury properties in the Tampa area, even amidst challenging circumstances.
