JetBlue Expands Fort Lauderdale Service, Cuts Routes from LaGuardia

Fort Lauderdale, FL – January 7, 2026, 9:17 a.m. ET – JetBlue Airways is making significant changes to its flight operations, announcing an expansion of its service in Fort Lauderdale while simultaneously cutting routes from LaGuardia Airport to Tampa and Boston to Dallas/Fort Worth. This strategic shift aims to enhance JetBlue’s presence in Florida, a market the airline has been aggressively targeting.

Starting March 11, JetBlue will cease operations between LaGuardia (LGA) and Tampa International Airport (TPA), as well as between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Travelers affected by these route cancellations will have the option to rebook through New York’s JFK Airport, connect via Fort Lauderdale, or receive a full refund.

In contrast, JetBlue is ramping up its offerings at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), introducing several new year-round and seasonal routes. Notable additions include daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth and Orlando, with the latter set to begin on May 21. The airline is also adding two additional daily flights on its existing route between Fort Lauderdale and LaGuardia.

This expansion is part of JetBlue’s broader strategy to focus on “new and high-performing markets.” The airline has already made strides in Florida, aiming for 113 daily departures and 46 nonstop destinations by the end of the year. Fort Lauderdale has emerged as JetBlue’s leading hub in the Sunshine State.

In addition to the new routes, JetBlue has announced special flights for Spring Break, connecting Fort Lauderdale to popular destinations such as Bozeman, Montana, Denver, Reno-Tahoe, and Salt Lake City. A unique flight from Portland, Maine, to Fort Lauderdale will operate five times a week from April 16 to 27, coinciding with Patriots’ Day.

JetBlue’s expansion comes at a time when other airlines are also increasing their presence in Florida, making the state a competitive market for air travel. As JetBlue continues to adapt its services, travelers can expect more options and convenience in their travel plans.

For those looking to explore Florida or beyond, JetBlue’s new routes offer exciting opportunities for both leisure and business travelers alike.
