Jacksonville Jaguars Eyeing Chris Godwin to Boost Offense in 2025

The Jacksonville Jaguars are gearing up to provide their young quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, with a better set of weapons for the upcoming 2025 season. Currently, the Jaguars have Brian Thomas Jr. as their top wide receiver, but there is a lot of uncertainty behind him. With Christian Kirk’s future in doubt and Gabe Davis underperforming, the team is looking to make some changes.

One potential target that has emerged for the Jaguars in free agency is Chris Godwin from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Analysts are predicting that the Jaguars may land Godwin, especially with Liam Coen, who was Godwin’s offensive coordinator in 2024, now serving as Jacksonville’s head coach.

However, there is a concern surrounding Godwin’s recent severe injury, as he dislocated his ankle and missed the latter half of the previous season. Despite the injury, Godwin has proven himself as a top receiver in the league, with four 1,000-yard seasons since entering the NFL in 2018.

If the Jaguars are able to secure Godwin, it would provide a significant boost to their offense and give Lawrence another talented weapon to work with. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story and follow @JaguarsOnSI and @_John_Shipley on Twitter for the latest news.
