XTEND Reality Inc. Launches New U.S. Headquarters in Tampa, Strengthening Defense Capabilities
October 14, 2024 – Tampa, Florida
In a significant move to enhance its presence in the U.S. defense sector, Israel-based XTEND Reality Inc. has officially inaugurated its new headquarters and manufacturing center in Tampa, Florida. This strategic expansion aims to bring the company’s cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems (UAS) closer to American military operations and commercial users.
Founded in Tel Aviv, XTEND specializes in developing advanced drone technologies for the Israel Defense Forces and the U.S. military. The new facility aligns with Washington’s ongoing efforts to promote domestic production of autonomous solutions, ensuring that U.S. defense missions benefit from localized support and innovation.
The Tampa center will focus on the production of Group 1 drones, which weigh up to 20 pounds and boast impressive capabilities, including a maximum service ceiling of 1,200 feet and a top speed of 100 knots (approximately 115 miles per hour). Among XTEND’s notable projects for the U.S. Department of Defense are the Wolverine small rugged system, the Griffon drone interceptor, and the XTENDER tactical indoor microdrone—all of which have successfully passed compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act for military use.
Rubi Liani, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of XTEND, emphasized the importance of the new facility, stating, “Our systems are designed to give operators unprecedented control, safety, and performance in the most demanding environments. This new facility enables us to bring advanced engineering and innovation directly to the U.S. market, allowing for rapid integration, customization, and deployment.”
XTEND’s commitment to the U.S. military is further demonstrated through its involvement in various projects, including the supply of the Wolverine tactical drone and the development of the Sparrowhawk counter-UAS system for American special forces. These initiatives highlight the company’s dedication to redefining human-machine collaboration in defense and national security.
As the demand for advanced drone technology continues to rise, XTEND’s new Tampa headquarters positions the company as a key player in the evolving landscape of military and commercial unmanned systems. With a focus on innovation and operational excellence, XTEND is poised to make a lasting impact on the future of defense technology in the United States.
