Tampa native and Blake High School graduate, Doechii, made history at the 67th Grammy Awards by winning “Best Rap Album” for her record-breaking album “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” The 26-year-old artist is only the third woman to ever win this prestigious award, solidifying her place in music history.
During her emotional acceptance speech, Doechii gave a heartfelt shout-out to her hometown, referring to herself as the “swamp princess” due to her Tampa pride. She highlighted the abundance of talent in the city and encouraged record labels to take notice of the talent pool in Tampa.
