Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity to Host 2025 International Conclave in Tampa: A Commitment to Service and Youth Empowerment

Thousands of Phi Beta Sigma Members Set to Converge in Tampa for 2025 International Conclave

TAMPA, FL — The vibrant city of Tampa is gearing up to welcome thousands of members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. for its highly anticipated 2025 International Conclave, taking place from July 15 to 19 at the Tampa Convention Center. This year’s event promises not only to celebrate brotherhood and scholarship but also to make a significant impact on the local community through a day of service and youth empowerment.

On July 15, fraternity members, families, and supporters will roll up their sleeves for a day dedicated to uplifting the Tampa Bay area. Partnering with local organizations such as Feeding Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries, and The Skills Center, the fraternity aims to engage in meaningful volunteerism and impactful youth programming.

Community Service Initiatives

At Feeding Tampa Bay’s Causeway Center, Sigma brothers and volunteers will participate in the Warehouse Sorting Program, working in two shifts to inspect and package food items for distribution across West Central Florida. “Phi Beta Sigma is honored to join Feeding Tampa Bay in their mission to serve our most vulnerable neighbors,” stated Chris V. Rey, International President of Phi Beta Sigma. “Service is not just a pillar of our organization – it’s our legacy.”

Volunteers will also lend a hand at Metropolitan Ministries, assisting in various critical service areas, including:

  • Pantry Services: Helping families in need with food and clothing.
  • Thrift Store and Warehouse: Sorting donations and maintaining inventory.
  • Kitchen Operations: Preparing and serving thousands of meals.
  • Environmental Team: Supporting campus cleanliness and safety.
  • PromiseLand Preschool: Engaging with young children in classrooms.

Volunteer shifts will begin at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m., with placements based on real-time needs. Youth volunteers are encouraged to participate, adhering to age-specific guidelines and chaperone requirements.

“This is more than just a volunteer event—it’s an opportunity to live out our motto, ‘Culture for Service and Service for Humanity,’” Rey emphasized.

Youth Empowerment Day

In conjunction with the service initiatives, Phi Beta Sigma will host a full-day Youth Empowerment Day at The Skills Center, featuring interactive workshops and mentorship sessions focused on education, health, and financial literacy. With over 500 youth already registered, the event aims to equip young people with essential tools for their futures.

“Our young people are not just the future—they are the now,” Rey added. “We’re investing in their growth and giving them tools they can use today to build better tomorrows.”

Public Events and Celebrations

The conclave will also feature a series of public events, including an opening ceremony on July 16, the Miss International Phi Beta Sigma Pageant on July 18, and the International Step Show & Stroll Competition, all held at the Tampa Convention Center.
