Florida Foodie Scene Scores Big Wins with Michelin Guide Additions in March

The Florida foodie scene is on fire this March as several restaurants, including four in Tampa, have been added to the prestigious Michelin Guide. One of the longest-standing establishments on the list is Mad Dogs and Englishmen, which recently moved to a new location in January. The new space, three times the size of the original, features themed rooms that exude posh British comfort and cuisine.

Owner Wilton Morley expressed his emotions about the new space, saying, “I actually choked up. I had to go out to the parking lot and get myself together.” The restaurant’s shepherd’s pie has also received praise, being called a “solid if slightly unique take on a classic.”

Cousin Vinny’s Sandwich Co., an “Italian to the bone” deli, also made the cut. Owner and chef Vinny Andriotti, a University of Tampa graduate, opened the location with three friends. The restaurant aims to create a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of Italian-American gatherings on a Sunday afternoon.

Other notable additions to the Michelin Guide include Big Ray’s Fish Camp, known for its fried grouper, and Fisk, a Scandinavian bar concept. In total, fourteen eateries across Florida earned a spot in the guide, with cities ranging from Miami to Orlando.

The recognition from the Michelin Guide is a testament to the growing food culture in Florida. The guide even expanded its 2025 selection to include restaurants in St. Pete-Clearwater, Greater Fort Lauderdale, and the Palm Beaches, further solidifying the state’s culinary reputation.
