Florida Man’s Unusual Jail Smuggling Attempt Leaves Sheriff Shaking His Head
Florida Man’s Unusual Jail Smuggling Attempt Lands Him Back Behind Bars
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – In a bizarre turn of events, a Florida man found himself back in jail after an unusual attempt to smuggle a thermos into the Polk County Jail. Walter Frymire, 51, who has a lengthy criminal history with 25 prior arrests and five stints in state prison, became the subject of Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd’s latest “Morning Briefing,” showcasing the oddities of law enforcement.
The saga began when deputies received a call about a naked man at a local park. Sheriff Judd humorously clarified the situation, stating, “We asked – is he naked or buck naked? You can be naked and still have your socks on, but if you’re buck naked, you are totally naked.” Upon arrival, deputies discovered Frymire fully clothed, leading to a brief conversation where he was let off with a warning.
However, Frymire’s luck quickly ran out when he crossed the street and trespassed onto railroad tracks, prompting the deputy to arrest him. During the booking process, Frymire’s antics took a shocking turn. Sheriff Judd revealed that Frymire attempted to bring a thermos into the jail, stating, “That’s right, he put it up the exit ramp. You know what I mean.”
When confronted, Frymire admitted to the unusual smuggling method, claiming, “Well, I put that inside my body.” This revelation led deputies to rush him to the hospital for a medical evaluation, as the situation posed serious health risks. “We had to take him to the hospital,” Judd explained. “They had to find a specialist. It was quite the ordeal, but he’s thermos-less in the county jail today.”
Despite Frymire’s threats against the deputy who arrested him, Sheriff Judd emphasized the importance of the deputy’s actions, stating that they likely saved Frymire’s life. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of law enforcement in Florida, where even the most unusual circumstances can lead to unexpected outcomes.
As Frymire sits in jail once again, the Polk County community is left to ponder the lengths some individuals will go to in their attempts to circumvent the law.
