Tampa Restaurants Shine in Michelin’s 2024 Florida Guide Ceremony
Tampa Adds More Michelin Stars to its Culinary Scene
Tampa, Florida, April 18, 2024 – The prestigious Michelin Guide held its annual award ceremony at the Tampa Edition, adding more stars to the city’s culinary scene. Excited chefs, restaurateurs, and journalists gathered for the event, where intimate Scandinavian eatery Ebbe and omakase hotspot Kōsen were awarded coveted Michelin stars.
These new additions join last year’s recipients, Koya, Rocca, and Lilac, in earning recognition from Michelin’s anonymous inspectors. Additionally, South Tampa’s Streetlight Taco received a Bib Gourmand designation for offering exceptional quality at a reasonable price.
The 2024 Florida Michelin Guide also recommends over a dozen restaurants in Tampa, ranging from culinary institutions like Bern’s Steak House and Columbia to modern concepts like Restaurant BT, On Swann, Olivia, and Ponte. In total, 21 Tampa restaurants are recommended by the guide, with four receiving Bib Gourmands and five earning stars.
While Tampa was not recognized in special award categories such as Exceptional Cocktail Program or Best Sommelier, Orlando’s Kaya and Miami’s Los Félix and Krüs Kitchen were awarded Florida’s first-ever Michelin Green Stars for their commitment to sustainability and culinary excellence.
Looking ahead, the Michelin Guide plans to expand its footprint in Florida, with hopes of including areas like the Palm Beaches, Fort Lauderdale, and the greater St. Petersburg region in future evaluations. As the dining scene continues to evolve, Tampa remains a destination for culinary excellence and innovation.
