Fatburger to Expand Florida Footprint with 40 New Locations Over the Next Decade
Florida – In a bold move to satisfy the growing appetite for its iconic burgers, Fatburger is set to significantly increase its presence in Florida. Parent company FAT Brands Inc. has announced a new development deal that will see 40 new Fatburger locations open across the state over the next ten years, marking a substantial expansion beyond its current outlets in Celebration and Riverview.
The expansion comes through a partnership with franchisee Whole Factor Inc., which previously signed a deal for 14 restaurants focused on the Orlando and Tampa markets. Notably, the new plan includes a push into Jacksonville, with a location slated to open later this year in Orange Park.
“Two years ago, Fatburger made its return to the state of Florida after a 20-year absence, and we are not looking back,” said Taylor Wiederhorn, co-CEO and chief development officer of FAT Brands. “Whole Factor is an excellent partner that understands what makes Fatburger such a unique, beloved brand.”
Spike Singh, owner of Whole Factor Inc., expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “We are excited to grow Fatburger across the state. We’re eager to share Fatburger’s iconic menu and vibrant atmosphere with even more fans.”
Fatburger’s Comeback
Fatburger made its much-anticipated return to Florida in June 2023, when it opened its Riverview location. This was followed by the launch of the Celebration restaurant near Orlando in February 2024. Both locations have exceeded expectations, fueled by strong local support and a loyal fan base.
What to Expect on the Menu
Founded over 70 years ago in California, Fatburger is renowned for its:
- Hand-pressed beef patties
- Chili-covered burgers
- Hand-scooped milkshakes
- Made-from-scratch onion rings
The menu also caters to diverse tastes with options like turkey burgers, Impossible burgers, chicken sandwiches, and both fat and skinny fries.
FAT Brands acquired the Fatburger brand in the early 2000s and has since been on a mission to expand its reach across more than a dozen states and multiple countries. With 40 new locations on the horizon, Fatburger is poised to become a household name in Florida’s burger scene in the years to come.
As the excitement builds for the upcoming openings, burger enthusiasts across the state can look forward to indulging in Fatburger’s delicious offerings and vibrant dining experience.
