“St. Petersburg Community Event Aims to Connect Residents with Affordable Housing Resources”
St. Petersburg Mom Juggles Four Side Hustles to Make Ends Meet
St. Petersburg, Fla. – Kay Williams, a hardworking mom from St. Petersburg, is no stranger to the hustle. In addition to her day job, she runs four side businesses to support her family. From selling fried food and baked desserts on weekends to running a party rental business and offering spiritual products like incense from her front yard booth, Williams does it all.
Despite her relentless efforts, the rising cost of living in St. Pete has made it challenging for Williams to make ends meet. With rent prices skyrocketing, she is considering the possibility of moving to a more affordable location.
This struggle is not unique to Williams. Many native Floridians are facing similar challenges, prompting Mo Franklin, the broker/owner of Franklin & Assoc. Realty, to take action. Franklin came up with the idea of organizing the first-ever “No Place Like Home” community event in south St. Pete.
The event, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 24, aims to bring together a diverse group of people, including representatives from banks, local governments, and non-profits, to provide resources and assistance to those in need. Whether attendees are looking to buy or rent a home, improve their credit scores, or save on utility bills, the event will offer valuable information and support.
Williams, like many others, sees the event as a beacon of hope. She is eager to explore the available resources and receive any help that can alleviate her financial burden as she continues to work tirelessly for her children.
For Williams and many others in similar situations, the “No Place Like Home” event represents a glimmer of hope in the face of financial challenges. It is a reminder that community support and resources can make a difference in the lives of those struggling to make ends meet.
