NFL Free Agency Updates: Buccaneers Making Moves During Legal Tampering Period

The legal tampering period of NFL free agency is officially underway, and teams are wasting no time in making moves. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been active in free agency, both bringing back key players and making new additions to their roster.

On March 11, the Bucs saw their 2021 first-round pick, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, sign with the Cleveland Browns on a one-year deal worth $4.75 million. Tryon-Shoyinka struggled to produce in Tampa Bay, but now he has a fresh start with the Browns.

The Buccaneers also signed punter Riley Dixon from the Denver Broncos on a two-year deal worth $6 million. Dixon was a top 10 punter in the NFL last year, addressing a desperate need for the Bucs.

On March 10, the Bucs lost center Robert Hainsey to the Jacksonville Jaguars on a three-year, $21 million deal. Hainsey was a backup center for the Bucs but will now have the chance to start in Jacksonville.

However, the Bucs did manage to bring back some key players. Wide receiver Chris Godwin returned on a three-year deal worth $66 million, and pass rusher Haason Reddick signed a one-year deal worth $14 million. The Bucs also re-signed guard Ben Bredeson to a three-year deal.

On March 7, the Bucs re-signed linebacker Lavonte David to a one-year deal worth up to $10 million. They also brought back safety Kaevon Merriweather, who was an exclusive rights free agent.

The Buccaneers are making moves in free agency, both retaining key players and adding new talent to their roster. Stay tuned for more updates as free agency continues.
