Groundbreaking for One Tampa: A New Era of Luxury Living Begins
Construction Kicks Off for One Tampa: A New Era of Luxury Living in the Heart of the City
TAMPA, FL – Excitement is in the air as construction officially begins this week on One Tampa, a stunning 42-story luxury condominium that promises to reshape the skyline of Florida’s Gulf Coast. Located directly across from Curtis Hixon Park, the ambitious project will rise to an impressive 510 feet, making it the tallest residential tower in Tampa upon completion.
At a groundbreaking ceremony held on Thursday, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor heralded the project as a pivotal moment for the city. “This is the future of our city,” she declared. “The vertical density. Ensuring that we’re making use of the property and the limited square footage we have.”
One Tampa will feature 225 opulent condominium units, with prices starting at $1 million and sizes ranging from 1,100 to 4,000 square feet. The demand for these luxury residences has been overwhelming, with over 50% of the units already sold. Brian Van Slyke, regional president of Florida’s West Coast for developer Kolter Urban, noted that the project has achieved $200 million in sales in just four months, making it one of the fastest-selling developments in the area.
The building will not only redefine luxury living but also offer an array of high-end amenities. Residents will enjoy a two-floor amenity deck complete with a pool, spa, fitness center, F1 racing simulator, golf simulator, social club, fire pits, screening room, co-working space, and guest suites. The top level will boast three exclusive penthouse units, providing breathtaking views of the city and beyond.
Originally announced in 2022, One Tampa was set to be a 54-story tower reaching 633 feet. However, plans were revised after concerns from the Hillsborough County Aviation Commission regarding the potential impact on air traffic at Tampa International Airport. Additionally, the project faced opposition from historic preservationists who sought to protect two century-old buildings on the site. In response, Kolter Urban agreed to modify the design, ensuring that the first five floors of the new tower reflect the architectural style of the original structures.
Van Slyke emphasized the developer’s commitment to community engagement, stating, “We’ve tried to be empathetic to the desires of the community and city administrators while also maximizing development opportunities.” He added that the design aims to create a comfortable pedestrian experience while incorporating modern conveniences.
One Tampa is poised to serve as a vital connector between Water Street and the central business district, acting as an anchor that will spur the revitalization and vibrancy of the neighborhood. As construction progresses, the anticipation for this landmark development continues to grow, promising to elevate Tampa’s status as a premier destination for luxury living.
With its blend of modern design, luxurious amenities, and a prime location, One Tampa is set to become a defining feature of the city’s skyline and a coveted address for those seeking an unparalleled urban lifestyle.
