Comfort Stations Open Across Tampa Bay Area After Hurricane Milton

Comfort stations are beginning to open across the Tampa Bay area as residents continue to recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Many in the area were left without power and water, prompting the need for these essential facilities.

The City of Temple Terrace has announced that their comfort station will be open on October 11, 12, and 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The station, located at the Temple Terrace Library on 202 Bullard Pkwy, will offer charging stations, air conditioning, and restrooms for those in need.

In Tarpon Springs, the comfort station at the Tarpon Springs Community Center on 400 S Walton Ave will be open on October 11 until further notice from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This station will provide charging stations, air conditioning, and even restrooms with showers (participants are asked to bring their own towel).

Residents of St. Petersburg can access comfort stations at the Frank Pierce Recreation Center, Childs Park Recreation Center, and Roberts Recreation Center on October 12 and 13. The stations will be open at various times throughout the weekend to provide relief to those affected by the hurricane.

Other comfort stations are also available in Sarasota, Hillsborough County, Hernando County, and Pasco County, offering a range of services including ice, water, ready-to-eat meals, showers, and laundry facilities.

As the community continues to recover from Hurricane Milton, these comfort stations serve as a vital resource for those in need. Stay updated on the latest information and resources by signing up for the Morning Headlines Newsletter from ABC Action News.
