Woman connected to Amber Alert missing: Tampa Police deeply concerned
The Tampa Police Department is currently on high alert as they search for a missing woman connected to an overnight Amber Alert for a nine-year-old girl. Sylvia Pagan, 34, was last seen on the 10400 block of Altman Street, sparking concern among authorities.
The case took a dramatic turn when the Suwanee County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a detective regarding a kidnapped child, later identified as Pagan’s daughter. The detective informed them that the girl had been taken by Pagan’s boyfriend, Jovanni Caceres Steffani, 38, leading to the issuance of an Amber Alert.
Deputies quickly located Steffani and the child at a motel, where they were able to rescue the girl and ensure her safety. However, Steffani refused to surrender and tragically took his own life by shooting himself in the head after a standoff with law enforcement.
The Amber Alert was lifted once the girl was found unharmed, but the search for Pagan continues. Authorities are urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact the Tampa Police Department.
