200 Skudda Gang Members Arrested for Fraud and Violent Crimes, Tampa Police Say

Nine members of the 200 Skudda Gang were arrested in Tampa after a two-year investigation revealed their involvement in a wide range of criminal activities, including fraud that affected hundreds of victims across the U.S. The gang, known for its violent reputation, was also linked to homicide, credit card fraud, racketeering, drug sales, and identity theft.

The investigation, conducted by the Tampa Police Department, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Florida Office of the Attorney General, uncovered the gang’s criminal enterprise that spread from Tampa and Hillsborough County to Conyers County, GA. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody emphasized the fear and disruption caused by the gang’s actions, particularly in cases of identity theft and fraud.

The gang’s criminal activities came to light in 2017, with incidents of shootings and a homicide in Tampa. The arrest of Joshua Green, charged with Third Degree Murder among other offenses, shed light on the gang’s violent tendencies. Additionally, the gang was involved in a feud with a rival gang in Sulphur Springs, resulting in shootings and arrests.

As detectives delved deeper into the gang’s activities, they uncovered a web of fraud, witness intimidation, credit card fraud, identity theft, and illegal possession of firearms and narcotics. The arrests of the nine gang members, including charges of racketeering, conspiracy, and murder, mark a significant victory for law enforcement in making Tampa a safer city.

Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan, in a press conference announcing the arrests, highlighted the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in bringing down the 200 Skudda Gang. The arrests serve as a warning to other criminal enterprises that their actions will not be tolerated, and justice will be served.
