Elon Sports Vision’s Coordinating Producer Contributes to NCAA Women’s Final Four In-Arena Content
Elon University’s Annika Cronin, the coordinating producer of Elon Sports Vision, recently played a key role in the in-arena content for the NCAA Women’s Final Four national championship weekend held in Tampa, Florida. Cronin, who has now supported the event for two consecutive years, worked behind the scenes to help create an engaging and memorable experience for fans attending the games.
During the national semifinals and championship game at Amalie Arena on April 4 and 6, Cronin served as an associate producer in the control room, collaborating with the production team from Van Wagner, a prominent sports advertising and entertainment agency. Her responsibilities included assisting in the display of timely and exciting content on the venue’s video boards throughout the weekend.
Reflecting on her experience, Cronin expressed her satisfaction in contributing to such a major event and being part of a team that enhanced the in-venue experience for spectators. She highlighted the rewarding nature of the work and the opportunity to challenge herself in new ways, ultimately leading to personal growth.
One of the highlights of Cronin’s time in Tampa was conducting video interviews with coaches and players from the participating teams, including the eventual champions, UConn. She described the experience of interacting with influential figures in women’s basketball as unforgettable.
As she returns to Elon University, Cronin plans to share the valuable lesson of trusting in one’s own abilities with her fellow students. She encourages them to embrace challenges and opportunities for growth, even when faced with doubts.
In her role as coordinating producer at Elon Sports Vision, Cronin leads a team of over 60 students, ensuring high-quality live sports broadcasts of university contests and providing hands-on learning experiences for aspiring broadcast professionals. Her contributions to the NCAA Women’s Final Four showcase her dedication to producing exceptional content and her commitment to advancing in the field of sports broadcasting.
