Everything You Need to Know to Vote in the Upcoming Elections

As election season approaches, it’s important to be informed and prepared to exercise your right to vote. ABC Action News has gathered all the essential information you need to know to ensure you can participate in this year’s elections.

The General Election is scheduled for Nov. 8, but special and local elections can be called at any time throughout the year. To stay updated on your county’s elections, you can check the Local Elections Database on the Florida Division of Elections website.

If you’re unsure whether you are a registered voter in the state of Florida, you can easily verify your voter status on the Florida Division of Elections website. Additionally, if you wish to change your party affiliation, you can do so on the Florida elections website before the voter registration deadlines.

For those interested in voting by mail, you must request a vote-by-mail ballot by Oct. 29 for the General Election. Early voting is also available, with county-specific dates provided for the General Election.

To determine your voting precinct and the races on your ballot, you can find your precinct within your county by using the precinct lookup tool on the Florida Division of Elections website. Remember to bring a current and valid photo ID with your signature when you go to vote. Various forms of identification are accepted, including a Florida driver’s license, United States passport, or student identification.

If you do not have proper ID, you can still vote a provisional ballot, as long as you are eligible and voted in the correct precinct. Your provisional ballot will count if the signature matches the one in your registration record.

For the most up-to-date voting information, contact your County Supervisor of Elections in the Tampa Bay area. Stay informed and make your voice heard in this year’s elections.
